After weeks of preparation and remote collaboration from Poland, we’ve finally arrived in Mallorca – and we’re so excited to officially begin our Erasmus+ traineeship with Education In Progress!
We are Weronika and Klara, two 24-year-old students of Latin American Studies at Jagiellonian University in Kraków. While our academic background focuses on language, culture, and international relations, we’ve always been passionate about the ways food connects people — across borders, generations, and traditions.
Now, here in Palma de Mallorca, we’re stepping into a new chapter. This isn’t just about a traineeship – it’s about living the experience: exploring a new culture, learning through hands-on activities, and being part of a real European initiative that empowers young people.
We’re thrilled to take part in the FOOD CARE project, which aligns perfectly with our values. As official Ambassadors, we will be creating content and taking part in activities that raise awareness about:
🥦 0 km food – supporting local producers and eating seasonally
🍞 Traditional cuisine – preserving cultural identity through food heritage
🍎 Conscious nutrition – understanding what’s on our plates and making informed choices
🌍 Sustainability & food waste – promoting simple actions that can lead to meaningful change
Now that we’re here, we’re also looking forward to the things that can’t be planned — the conversations, discoveries, and unexpected lessons that come from being in a new place. We’re open to meeting other young people from different backgrounds, sharing ideas, and learning from each other’s perspectives.
This project is also a great opportunity for us to develop practical skills: working in an international team, planning communication content, practicing our languages, and pushing ourselves creatively. We want to grow not just as students, but as people — more open, more aware, and more inspired to act.
Mallorca already feels like the perfect place to start this journey. We’re so grateful to Education In Progress for welcoming us and can’t wait to share what we learn — both with the local community and with our peers back in Poland.
Let the adventure begin! 🌞
