We are Weronika and Klara - two 24-years-old students of Latin American Studies at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland.
But beyond our academic interests, we share a big passion for culture, people, and — of course — food!
We have started our Erasmus Traineeship at Education In Progress in Spain, exactly in Palma de Mallorca.
During our two-month internship, we hope to not only learn new things, but also actively contribute to meaningful projects.
Our tutor proposed to us, not only to support her with FOODCARE tasks, but even to become Ambassadors of this wonderful opportunity: we have the chance to become real Change Agents in Poland and in Spain. We can do it!
Our plan is to deepen our understanding and experience firsthand in FOODCARE by investigating these relevant topics by comparing the situation in Poland and in Spain:
- 0 km Food
- Seasonal products at local level
- Traditional dishes – supporting and preserving cultural heritage
- Ecology
We will share our research and impressions with you by publishing interesting articles and posting engaging social media posts.
As young women growing up in a fast-changing world, we often find ourselves asking important questions about our daily habits, our health and our role in shaping a more sustainable future. That’s exactly why the FOODCARE project feels so important and personal to us. It’s not just about food- it’s about awareness, responsibility and empowerment.
We believe that food has the power to connect people across generations and cultures. It reflects how we care for ourselves, for others and for the planet. Being part of FOODCARE gives us the chance to actively promote values we truly believe in: conscious nutrition, respect for nature and keeping cultural traditions alive through cooking and shared knowledge.
Once in Mallorca, we will even have the opportunity to have a full immersion experience in the Spanish local context with people all around, and especially other youngsters-learning directly from the local environment, collaborating with peers, and exchanging ideas.
While we’re currently in Kraków, we’re approaching this experience with an open, international mindset — connecting local Polish practices with what we’re learning from the Spanish context. We’re so excited to be part of this journey and can’t wait to share what we discover!
